Myofascial Release Therapy in Kennett Square, PA
Serving Wilmington DE, Chadds Ford & West Chester
If you're struggling with chronic pain, TMJ, headaches, neck pain, sciatica, or plantar fasciitis,
Myofascial Release (MFR) may be the missing piece.
At Touch of Light Health in Kennett Square, PA, I provide hands-on Myofascial Release therapy to help relieve pain, restore motion,
and address the root cause of restriction in the body’s connective tissue system.
What Is Myofascial Release (MFR)?
Myofascial Release is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on therapy that uses sustained,
focused pressure to release restrictions in the body’s fascial system.
Unlike traditional massage, MFR:
- Is performed directly on the skin (no oils or machines)
- Uses slow, sustained pressure
- Targets connective tissue restrictions
- Works with the body’s natural healing response
- Trauma, inflammation, and even surgery can create myofascial restrictions that place up to 2,000 pounds per square inch of pressure on pain-sensitive structures.
- These restrictions often do not show up on X-rays, MRIs, or other standard tests, yet they can be a major source of chronic pain.
Myofascial Release works by gently applying sustained pressure
that allows the fascia to elongate, soften, and release —
reducing pain and improving mobility.
What Is Fascia?
Fascia is a continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds:
- Muscles
- Bones
- Nerves
- Blood vessels
- Internal organs
- The brain and spinal cord
- Think of fascia like a spider web or the threads in a sweater — it connects everything in the body from head to toe.
When fascia becomes restricted, tight, or dehydrated, it can create tension patterns that lead to pain far from the original source.
This is why neck restrictions can contribute to headaches.
Why hip restrictions can cause back pain.
Why jaw tension can affect the whole body.

What is fascia? Here's some additional info . . .
Fascia is a specialized system of the body that has an appearance similar to a spider’s web or a sweater. Fascia is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein, as well as, all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. The most interesting aspect of the fascial system is It's actually one continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. In this way you can begin to see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, like the yarn in a sweater. This MFR work, along with the energy therapy, provides a great source of relief from a wide array of health challenges ranging from headaches/migraines, back & neck pain, Plantar Fascitis, Sciatica, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, menstrual discomfort or simply feeling “out of sorts” to chronic and more serious conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Lyme’s disease and addictions.
